Offseason Stuff
So posting has been really light during the offseason. Sorry 'bout that. Here's a few notes.
David Backes was chosen for Team USA at the IIHF World Championships. He'll be spending the offseason in Mankato, which is cool. Hopefully some of the current Mavs will be able to work out with him this summer.
Kurt Davis was the only player to sign with the Mavericks when the summer signing period opened up last week. He's an article from Shane Frederick. His father was a Maverick in the late 70's. Davis is exactly what the Mavericks needed on defense: a smart, mobile defenseman.
A forward that signed with Minnesota State this fall, Mike Louwerse, will be joining the Mavericks team next fall. I'm not sure if all three of the other forwards that have signed with the Mavericks will be joining the team next fall. There are 12 returning forwards, and Louwerse. I'd imagine that Mavericks would like to have 14 or 15 forwards on the roster.
