Meet Trevor Bruess
The Mavericks picked up another commitment for the 2007 season from Lincoln Stars(USHL) forward Trevor Bruess. Here is what the internet turned up on Bruess, in awkward and annoying reverse-chronological order.
He is currently playing in the Minnesota 4 on 4 Summer Hockey Leaguef for Pine Beach Lodge along with Brian Kilburg and Mike Zacharias. After two games, Bruess has no goals and two assists.
According to lincolnstars.com, Bruess recently participated in the All-Star game at the Lincoln Stars tryout camp, which is no surprise considering he made the team last year. His head coach, Steve Johnson said " "I thought that Langlais, Bruess and Kramer were among the vets that played particularly well."
Here is Bruess' Lincoln Stars profile. Among the vital information, he's 6'0" 192 lbs., he was born January 6th, 1986, and lists Minneapolis as his hometown.
Here are Bruess' stats for 2005-2006. He scored 10 goals and 17 assists in 56 games last season for the Stars.
Bruess was interviewed for the January 2006 Lincoln Blueline Booster Newsletter. Among some points of interest:
-He has two dogs named Elvis and Frankie, and two cats named Church and Jimmy
-He took four classes last year at Southeast Community College in Lincoln
-He was a fighter for the Stars, and had his nose broken during the season.
-Interested in magic as a hobby.(That's pretty sweet)
-And of course, he likes to switch it up between boxers and briefs.
He narrowly beat out Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as MySpace user Caroline's biggest hero, because he is her "favorite player!!!" Please note that all those exclamation points were inside the quotation.
He ended up in Lincoln after being the 48th overall pick in the 2005 USHL Entry Draft, six spots ahead of future Maverick teammate Ben Youds.
Prior to being drafted by the Stars, Bruess played for the Fargo-Moorhead Jets of the North American Hockey League.
Bruess played his high school hockey at Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, Minnesota. He particpated in the Ted Brill Great 8 Festival after his senior season. He helped the Stars make the state tournament twice while there.
