Mavs Not Done Yet

Most people thought the Mavericks were pretty much done recruiting for next year's team. But thanks to the early defection of Ryan Carter, the Mavericks seem to be in the market for another forward for next season.
This post indicates that Mankato offered a scholarship to Wisconsin forward Brent Gwidt for next fall. Gwidt was recently selected in the 6th round of the NHL draft by the Washington Capitals.

It goes on to indicate that Gwidt may pass on the Mavericks offer to play in the USHL next season and enter college in 2007, like he originally planned.

While the pool of potential players for 2006 is small, there are still a few good prospects out there, and the Mavericks could find a hidden gem. Some notable players who committed the summer before they started college include Hobey Baker finalist Scott Parse and Minnesota State's own Brock Becker.
