Carter Signs with Anaheim

Forward Ryan Carter has decided to forego his final two years at Minnesota State Mankato to sign a professional contract with the Anaheim Ducks. Though Carter would have only been a junior next season, he'll turn 23 years old in August. Carter was the Mavericks third leading scorer and second leading goal scorer last season.

The Ducks have a history of taking undrafted free agents from the college ranks. Ferris State's Chris Kunitz and Maine's Dustin Penner both played regularly for the Ducks last season after signing with Anaheim as free agents.
