Collins decide he wasn't quite done lighting the lamp in period one, when he score at the 18:08 mark.(unassisted) This would cap off a first period, which UND would most likely want to forget. After one period of play, the score was Boston College:3 North Dakota:0. None the less, the Fighting Sioux would make a game of it. Less than five minutes into the second period, Rastislav Spirko scored a short-handed goal, assisted by Travis Zajac. This gave the Sioux somewhat of a confidence boost, and helped them get another goal at the 13:25 mark. Lighting the lamp this time for the Sioux was none other, than freshmen, Rylan Kaip. Kaip put home a one timer on a beautiful pass from Matt Watkins. Another assist was given to Chris Porter. Boston College had the answer at 15:38 when Anthony Aiello scored an unassisted goal for the Eagles. Chris Collins proved why he is one of the top 3 hobey canidates when he lit the lamp, on the power play, for the hat-trick, at 19:37. He was assisted by Ben Ferriero and Cory Schneider. This would cap off the second period, with BC up 5-2. North Dakota decided to try and make a game of it when Jonathon Toews scored on the power play at 8:11. Boston College had the answer once again though, as Nathan Gerbe, scored what would be the game winning goal, at 10:33. The Sioux did not give up though, as Travis Zajac scored short-handed at 15:42. He was assisted by Drew Stafford and Brian Lee. This brought the Sioux within two goals, but it was too little, too late. The Fighting Sioux proved they weren't giving up though, scoring a goal with just over 12 seconds remaining in the game.(Brian Lee from Travis Zajac) North Dakota out-shot Boston College by ten, at 41-31.
